She got flowers today

Today of all day when she prepared a proper home cooked meal

And decided to clean

He chose to still be mean

He shouted on her in front of her friends

Has if embarrassing her wasn’t enough

When they left he punched on her so badly

The next day the bruises were so visible she couldn’t even pretend

She got flowers today

He told her sorry but still hit her again even harder than the last time,

She kicked and she screamed

Yelling baby please

He give her one more squeeze

A squeeze to the neck that had her wheezing

Nothing she did seemed to please him

She got flowers today

Only thing this time she woke up and saw him by her bed side

Saying sorry again

Not her bed but a bed in a cold place call a hospital

The flowers by her bed side looked like poison ivy because she was in so much misery

Asking God please help me

But she still went back

She got flowers again today

but today was the last day and the saddest day

this day would have never happened this way if she never chose to endure the abuse and stayed

The day she got flowers last was the day he brutally took her life away

So at her funeral she got flowers that day
