Sharpened Smiles

by Emily McGuff

By Emily McGuffPublished about a year ago 1 min read

She’s deadly

Turn you to stone

With a glimmer of eyes

She’s a killer

Eat your beating heart

With a sauce and spice

Don’t put up a fight

Don’t hold your breath

She’ll freeze you

Without an inch of regret

Don’t hold your breath

Don’t put up a fight

Honey, you never were

Going to be right

Do not underestimate

The pretty eyes and

the Subtle smile

Because beneath the mask

She is swallowing the fury and fire

Pushing down the build

Sharpening the long stick

Dipping it in poison

And biding her time

One breath at a time.

heartbreak
