“These symbols… they weren’t meant to guide people here. They were meant to keep them out.”“What do you mean?” Elena asked, her hand on the hilt of her knife, ready for anything.

Grace turned to the group, her face pale. “This wasn’t a city of treasure. It was a prison. Whatever they worshiped, whatever they feared, they tried to lock it away here.”

Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled, and from the shadows of the ruined city, the wraiths emerged, no longer content with lurking unseen. They moved like smoke, their forms shifting and twisting, but their intent was clear. They were hungry, and they had waited a long time for something to wander into their domain.
