“How do we stop them?” Elena asked, her back against the stone, knife in hand, ready to fight off the encroaching shadows.Grace looked at the symbols, her mind racing. “We need to seal the city again. That’s the only way.”

Jackson grabbed a fallen stone and slammed it against the altar, hoping to activate something—anything—that would save them. As the ground trembled once more, the wraiths hesitated, their forms flickering.But it wasn’t enough.

The city didn’t want to be sealed again.With a final, deafening roar, the forest came alive, swallowing the city, the wraiths, and the explorers whole. The last thing Jackson saw was the altar sinking into the ground, as if the forest itself was pulling it down, erasing any trace of what had happened.And then, there was silence.
