Shadow Puppets and Smoke

What body are you in?

Slowly becoming mythical,

You're breaking into something cynical

They called me a miracle

But I do not find anything believable in your ashy skin

Reaching out, playing cards

Yet the skies cracked and cut your hands.

I touched crimson, emerald, and sapphire

Because you felt inertia stop, your equilibrium turned against you, and all of it blinded you.

I'm going to make a difference

You're going to misunderstand the world around you

I have to be inspirational and sensational

Sure, be a hurricane, but they will forget your name

They will clap, cheer, and the day will be brighter

That's the spotlight of laughter and fools

We will escape and never fear death

Stand your ground and you should be

I will live my life

But what will it cost?
