We are Ghosts here in the darkness

You can’t see, but we see you

Quietly waiting in the stillness

Mingling shadows in evening hue

Weighing on your conscience

A thought caught up, inside your head

Memories of past experience

Moments of unrelenting dread

Though you run, you can’t escape us

We are the shadows on your heals

The reflection avoided at all costs

Your denial that we’re real

We will remain, regardless

You will never get away

Your efforts do not harm us

Our tasks will never sway

We are the ghosts assigned to follow

Your every move we know

Have no feelings, we are hollow

Going wherever you may go
