Shades of Poison Ivy.

Sonnet of shadows.

By Novel AllenPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

☘️twisted, betraying heart entwined in poison ivy

☘️ locked away...for my peace of mind...you beg for release

Wicked, Narcissus incarnate, caring only about that which you desire

never thinking of me and what I wish to hold dear to my soul...Love

☘️you are a fickle devil , inconsiderate, degenerate, wanton, debased

breaking my psyche, unraveling my being to the deepest depths of despair

☘️then you leap into the bosom of another, sating your selfish needs

☘☘You are like poison ivy, an itchy blistering rash - toxic...undisciplined

☘️causing an allergic reaction - rendering me incapable of blessed peace

☘️When we first met, you promised joy unspeakable, filled with glory

For a short time you kept your promise, then you leapt into the chest

☘️of another who made you sinful overtures of plutonic adorations

☘️Still, how I miss your flowery, flirtatious, felicitations and fun overtures

Return to me...I free you, forgive you...take me back. Make me whole again.
