Shades of Jade

Along the road less travelled. The road drops here.

~situated away from the centre of my body...

~far from the point of my attachment ~

~from the opposite of my proximal self

~i have been existing between time and myself

~But today

~i awakened in a jaded tone of shade and mood

~slightly askew

~the world spun...morphed

~colors blended in a whirling vortex of

~the not feeling like myself

~only then

~did it hit me like a thousand decibels of silent bricks

~i had to say it out loud

~admit it to the wind

~i was changed...altered

~both physically and mentally

~finally realizing

~this is the year which redefines my colors

~from yellow sunshine to

~a more paler shade of jade

~and i have to live with it

~accept it

~raise myself up from the dark fog

~which has dogged my path these past months

~i had faced the cloaked form waiting with the scythe

~the grim reaper had come a'harvesting

~my yellow could...should have turned to black,

~the quiet shade of the final sleep

~reaper stood and watched as they stopped my heart

~a machine breathed for me

~had i died...in those four hours, while he ~death watched

~did he hover there...hoping for life ~ or for the fulfillment of his task

~Sorry, o shrouded one...BUT ~ I'm awake

~I won...at least for now

~I know that someday, you will be back

~I am here now...my colors merged...harmonized...iridescent

~The veil has lifted

~the journey diverged to a road less travelled

~but the destination remains the same

~Me...arriving at myself

~And that will make all the difference~

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.
