Shades

Without sunlight, we have no color

When we hide in the shadows, we escape the sun’s rays

When we are in the dark, we cannot be seen

When we are in the dark, we are all the same, colorless

In the dark, we are deaf to the sound of the light

In the light, we can truly see who we are

In the light, our colors come out

We shine

We reflect

We glow

We are lustrous

We are all luminous in the light of the sun

We cannot hide in the light

And in the light, we can become blind
