An ode to peace

Would you please give me calm? Give me the compass of peace.

I need the noise of suffering to cease and say the least.

Rainforest. I can hear the rain of the forest cry out.

I highly doubt it’s precipitation will ever dry out.

It’s a metaphor for life, but I want more from life.

I want a life of ease. No more living to appease.

I wanna open my palms and feel the softness of calm.

No more anxious heat filling my chest. I want a nest to rest.

Free from life’s tyranny where I am my own enemy.

Chaos no more. I want a new life covered with serenity.
