Sensational
A poem inspired by the five senses.
The taste of honey on my tongue,
A sensation that cannot be undone.
Sweet nectar from bees at play,
Golden goodness to brighten my day.
The sight of a flower in full bloom,
Petals soft like a cozy room.
Colors bright and petals so pure,
A sight to behold, of this I am sure.
The sound of laughter in the air,
Echoing through, without a care.
Joyful noise, a symphony of glee,
Filling my heart, setting me free.
The touch of a gentle breeze,
Caressing my face with ease.
Coolness soothing, a calming force,
Nature's touch, an endless source.
The scent of freshly cut grass,
An aroma that will forever last.
Earthy tones, a smell so sweet,
Nature's perfume, an amazing feat.
The senses combine to create,
A world of wonder, a sensory state.
Emotions evoked, memories made,
A poem inspired, an experience relayed.

Mama’s Boy
I’ve been a fiancé for four years and three months. We’ve been together for six and a half years total, and we have a two-month-old son together. I can’t help but think that we’ll never get married. We haven’t even decided on a wedding date. When I bring it up, he tries to escape the room as if he’s late for something more important.
