Self-talk

Conversations with myself

“Cut to the chase

You’re not there

All you can do

Is to brace yourself

Do what you can

So as not to get tangled up again

In uselessness dripping through

Unsuccessful connections in the brain

They are all not good

But at least to be repaired

To be able to stand

In fully radiant lights

Casting a new perspective on the case

Old as ancient times

Yet still resonating in the genes”

*

“I’ll fix it; I know I can

I just need to find the way

To deal with it on my own

Using the resources available to me

They attack me from everywhere

So, there’s no way

I can miss them”

*

“Be brave, brace yourself

Cos yourself is the only one you have”

if it doesn't come bursting out of you

in spite of everything,
