Self Portrait: Her World

The Westlife A&P

By Sondra EisenmanPublished 6 years ago 1 min read
One of my favorite extreme selfies. It's like me looking in from my own head.

She sits and pretends she's a princess,

And her Daddy-O says so,

Looking through the bottom of an old coke bottle

Her world is amber colored.

You might find this strange little girl

then you might find the deep Michigan Sea

You might find her looking through a maginifying glass

burning the ants in the hot Texas sun.

This girl can't be too careful

'cause those diamonds are poisonous snakes

She hears those rattles warning

She knows what is swimming in those lakes

Those muddy waters are only lurking

those gar-fish will needle at your legs

and they ain't worth catching

but if he's big enough

just mount him on the wall.
