You see in him there

Embarrassed from the corner of the eye

Gagging on his own vortex

A thing he created of rotational deliberacy

But relegated

To himself

And obscure to places evacuative or normative

To an elevator shaft

Or a tablespoon of salt

He tries to swallow it

His radicalization of dizziness

and his willingness to adapt to change

and his attempts at comfort in uncomfortable situations

and longing with all that he has longing

like every strand a silver strand

glinting as it reaches

the low tide on shallow beaches

Gasp!

Now he raises his hands

Eyes whiter

Eyes wider

Both hands on throat

He tries to see you now

Sufficiently unembarrassed by his panic

And you, being a an average citizen

With above average medical training

Rush to him

Stand him up

And Heimlich maneuver

Adrenalin prevents him from saying anything to you

Instead he vomits up

A pencil, a watch, and a wedding ring

surreal poetry
