Carpe Diem

Seizing a nine to five

Like a lemming

Dosed in yellow

Projecting perfection

outwards

From pink houses

To this I dissent

And instead

Burn the candle wax

Feel the blood pump

Goosebumps down the back

Breath on a neck

Dancing in the shadows

With naught but the ghosts

And the painters

And poets

The dirty

The downtrodden

And those

Who know

Only under veiled darkness

Can one see clearly

Seize the night
