My Mind’s Eye
It’s morning again and how grateful I am,
Awakened from my sleep, there must be a plan.
I don’t see it this ebb and flow of my life,
But I know in time it will come into sight.
These mysteries I write about day after day,
Of life, love, family, and friends far away.
Give me solace in times when I need it,
Delivering grace for the moment I admit.
As I sit here typing the thoughts that appear,
Describing the faces of people I hold dear.
I’ll never say that I take anything for granted,
Today’s treasures become tomorrow’s decanted.
So, walk with me along this imaginary trail,
One that’s filled with the slightest detail.
And if you listen very closely and remain very still,
You’ll hear the stories that I hear, what a thrill.
I go now back into the world that binds me,
Imprisoned within my mind weeping to be free.
There is no freedom more precious than this,
Where my mind can see beyond into the bliss.
