Secret

Aging Man

By susan marie loehePublished 6 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

broke down outside the crystal castles

drawing their lines on endless blue

the grease from that engine

a body laid in the unmelted grains of glass

the grisgris of ocean water

rinsing the scar but keeping the dent

of the baby's head to the hearthstone

towering rages faded goodbye

saved from a darkness in black eyed firstnames

the old dog wanders in the sodium halide yellow glow

inking the night shadow's black running

here there are no stars

for that walk out to the edges where the graves are unmarked

the undead stood there wondering trail

feathers blowing in the nightwind

a gentle smile saved for later

surreal poetry
