Second Wind (Spoken over Hey Now Instrumental Carl Thomas)

Second wind, is a reflective spoke word poem found on page .7 in my upcoming book. Presence of mind

By Nathaniel TerrellPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

I look back with disgust

how comfortably I adapted to rock bottom

That’s as close as I’ll get to hell

while I am still breathing

Everybody wants to be known for being somebody

When lifetime expires,

how much weight will legacy hold?

I overcome cycles of waking up angry

but I’m far from bitter

God is good and life aint fair

I’d rather be a cheerful giver, than be forced to share

The play is being run right in front of our faces

Are you not entertained?

Pay the cost for ownership

Or sign the contract and stick to the script?

Smile happy idiots,

lights, camera action

As I grow older, hunger remains

A measure of discipline has kept me in decent shape

and Summer is close

But now, is no time for pleasure

Now, is no time for fun at all

Right now, it’s time to lock in

Lord’s will,

this time,

I’ll finally figure this shit out
