Second Hand Smoke

three dimensional hazes

By BrenPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

i used to think i didn’t care

i had this passing madness

a hunger, a thirst

and now?

and now i’m not so sure

not now, not anymore

but know i’m fuelled

and i’m no longer fooled

by the second hand smoke

every single day i breathe in

the exhalations that i seethe in

the ceaseless sighs of this endless city

and therein sadly lays the pity

and the second hand smoke

my tv tries to tell me

of all the shit they want to sell me

smoothly spoken pretty lies and co

they assume my subtle meekness

as they prey upon my weakness

it’s all second hand smoke

it’s the silliness

in the serious

not crazy

not even delirious

no one’s taking chances

no one told the cancers

it’s just second hand smoke
