Seasons

Poem: By Imani Jones

You took my summer days made them great

Took away the pain of them rainy days

Seasons change fall came you took the side

Of a guy who all added up to the lies

Winter came broken in two

Never thought it would be you

Let it be told you were half my soul

Left me for the cold damn

Title best friend got buried in the snow

Spring came lives not changed

What a shame beauty lies beneath

I’m the spring if you believe

God spoke to me said you weren’t the one

For me told me you have to let go in order

To be free it’s time you worry about your

Own need in this world full of greed

You have to be able to see the lies that soak

Beneath as you can’t plant the tree with the

soil of Eve
