Riding the waves of life ...

No mourning for a sad life left behind

No looking back to view its frothing wake

I catch the wind in optimistic sails

and flee past traumas bubbling salted rage.

*

My hands clench tight to steer the conning helm

White knuckles riding galloping seahorse waves

New worlds await my presence, other realms ...

A future filled with love and faerie tales.

*

Approaching land, excitement fills the air

No jagged rocks to spoil my future plans

I let the anchor fall without a care

then swim for shore to finally make a stand

*

My new life on this island has arrived

I will cherish every day until I die.
