Screw You

You Were Supposed To Be My Safe Place

I'm the one you want

when there's no one else around

The kind that you call friend

until someone else you know, is found

Pretty good at conversation

as you keep looking over my shoulder

I should have learned my place and station

to known my place when I got older

I get invited to the party

stuck in the corner by myself

The weird one in the family

without a picture on the shelf

Don't have an answer to the question

exactly what it is I did

And if you want a true confession

I've been odd man out, since we were kids

I find myself saying, I'm sorry

when things begin to feel uncomfortable

I'm always the first one to get worried

don't want to be seen as, insufferable

I don't know where these feelings came from

and these days, I feel pissed off

Why do I need your affirmation

or care if or when you brush me off

I'm tired of being your understudy

feeling like I'm always in the way

mumbling under my breath, "just f me"

but those are the things I cannot say
