scratches in my mind - Inertia creeps, agency sleeps

last in "scratches in my mind" Senryū series - self-reflective, introspective poem.

By Paul StewartPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Inertia it creeps

over our living corpses

agency it sleeps

-

bang the gong, bang bang

(whispered gasps, cries, but unheard)

bang the gong, bang bang

-

Inertia it seeps

into our very being

agency it sleeps

-

bang the gong, bang, gaps

(unuttered nothing said, done)

boom rat-a-tat-tat

-

Inertia it reaps

all that we are, we could be

agency it sleeps

-

bang the gong, gasp-bang

(-------)

metronomic-tick

-

Inertia it keeps

a vice-like hold on us

agency it weeps

bang the gong

gong

gong

gone
