My life was like a scrabble board,
full of words that didn't add up to much.
So I took the board and threw it,
in sheer and utter disgust.
Pieces landed all around,
and for a moment I was happy.
Until I noticed my board was empty,
and words I didn't have any.
For a time I wanted nothing more,
than to simply tear the board up.
But then inspiration struck me,
I could rebuild from the bottom up.
If addiction is throwing the board,
and wanting to die is tearing it up,
then surely recovery is wanting to rebuild that board from nothing all the way up.
