My knuckles tell a story

strangers might assume was true.

The scars and marks

tell a tale of carelessness and anger.

While that mat be true,

there's a different narrative

beneath it all.

My palms tell a story

those closest to me know is true.

The soft, unmarred skin

paints a picture of care and love.

Two conflicting stories,

with truth in both.

The only way to know the whole truth,

is to turn the page.
