SCARED

...

By T. LichtPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

I'm scared writing. Scared what'll come out.

I've not let myself for a while, scared of the stranger I've become to myself.

No longer recognize the feelings I feel, the feelings I've bottled up

Abashed at what they are, scared of what they mean.

Staring at the black, black ink dry inside my pen.

Blotches up the barrel like blood stains on walls.

What is inside of me will not come out of the lungs that keep me hostage.

They will not come through the hands that will not free me.

Those unnamed, unwritten things will stay scared in the throat

that chokes me as I breath through the fear of knowing what will happen if I do.
