Scales Are Never Kind
They are ruining my health, my life and my head.

Scales Are Never Kind
Scales are never kind,
they glare with cruel precision,
cold numbers on a plastic face,
deciding how I feel.
Let’s ban them from the bathroom,
let’s kick them out the door,
for they are ruining my head,
and I just can’t take more.
I want to live without their voice,
without the morning dread,
no judgment on the floor for me,
no fear of what they’ve said.
I want to love my mirror,
and smile at what I see,
not chase a fake perfection,
that steals the best of me.
Scales are never kind,
and I am done obeying,
my worth is not a number,
no matter what they’re saying.
I’ll take back all my power,
and breathe without the shame,
no plastic dial will rule my heart,
or play its little game.
So let the scales grow dusty,
forgotten on the floor,
I live my life with freedom now,
my scales are kicked out my door.
