Save This Last Chance

For life

By Amy ChristiePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Hunger for all that glows,

energy to climb to the clouds,

what do you do when sun dies

day by day

do you add candles in this corner, that,

can you stay to guide moon

what will come to pass

when your light

goes dim, forgets

what your face looked like centuries,

lifetimes

in past rejoicing?

***

Your chance to love,

and be loved back,

to become shelter for a soul,

stays in sunset of time,

ages won't stop compassion

inside ocean,

no heart can dream itself to darkness,

nightmare of anguish grows bold

when you're lonely,

don't let steel brush your shoulders

cold touch lingers on spirit

freezes your memories and smile,

makes laughter crawl,

beg for a second, one more

to feel warm

in sunlight.

***

Save soul from endless doom

belong

in sunny morning,

each time you look up

feel the joy

shade takes one step back, another,

your laughter drives deceit in forest,

forgotten endless disdain

cannot touch you

in daybreak.

***

Believe in one more time,

your ever after comes

when you keep one chance for this heart,

fate knows you in the dark

day, dusk,

one afternoon,

when you meet, be prepared,

that one last word you hold

let it grow wings,

take you on journey

you cannot undo

or take back

this song.

***

Dream one more time

once is enough to fly,

do right

and path will come

rainbow on fire of a wish,

open sea to your courage

you wanted light,

be light,

become,

your verse floating on waves,

rhyme in the wind,

embrace,

handful of scarves

taken by chance.

***

Yours again, now,

this morning

or tonight

you care, you stand,

you rest

under sunshine

that keeps on binding soul

pours moon spell

in your veins.

***

Look now, be lifted

in loving embrace,

what have you suffered

to get here,

whose voice

hurt you the most,

cry and let go of hurt

starlight is yours

in one last dance.

***

You make soul glow

on silver path of hope

let it rest

graceful

in moonlight.
