Save It

A poem.

By Sara WilsonPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

You can keep your fake apology

when you're screaming and acting tough.

If the whole point was to break me,

Then I guess I've finally had enough.

Do you ever get sick and tired

of apologizing to me?

Because I'm sick and tired of forgiving you

for the things nobody sees.

But you say that I'm perfection...

You love me. Don't I know?

But why do you only say those words

when I start to let you go?

Life is wonderful and perfect

when I'm doing everything right.

As long as I keep my mouth shut

and remain a pretty sight.

Be quiet. Just submit.

You love me. It's true.

How nice it must be to have me

always there for you.

When all that's left for me

are the broken pieces and the scraps...

begging you to just respect me...

Maybe.. one day.. in the future. Perhaps...

when I learn to keep my mouth shut

and do all you tell me to do.

When I allow you to manipulate me

just because I fell for you.

I accept a lot.

I'm a fucking ocean filled with hope.

But I don't accept your apology.

Not this time. Nope.

I gave it all I had.

I kept fighting till the end.

I treated you like royalty.

You couldn't even treat me like a friend.

So, you can keep your damn apology.

I think it's time for me to go.

I still wish you all the best.

Not with me though.
