Sapphire Dreams

Years End

By Nova SkaiPublished 4 years ago • Updated 4 years ago • 1 min read

Azure waves collide

Against this coffin of Dreams.

The hoarfrost tipped,

Sweeping blades that

Slice

At the Tempest tossed grave,

Where the memory of my

waterlogged soul lie

So restlessly.

A year,

Bound in frost-bitten chains.

A year,

Poseidon played as my pallbearer,

Cascading my oaken vessel from

Wave

To

Wave,

Torrent

To

Torrent,

While I lie in wait so

Hopelessly,

Praying,

Begging,

That soon I would no longer

Have to bide the icy cyclone that

Was hellbent to drown me.

And now,

At the bend in the year,

The completion of this

Hellish revolution,

I have been carried ashore,

And laid upon the

Warm ashen sands

Beneath

Beaten

Iron Skies.

The clouds don’t mourn upon the

Wake of my Sky-clad burial,

They smile in gleaming towers of

Steel and Ivory,

And celebrate my passing

Of a 25th cycle

Around the

Blazing ember

That sat 93 million

Miles from

Where I lay.

I am gifted a chalice of

Soul-searing ambrosia,

Burning ichor bled

From the veins of gods;

I drink of the

ethereal stew brimming

With knowledge and

Wisdom,

And

Revive these

Sapphire Dreams.
