Oh, it was such a silent night.
Except of course when "Santa"
started to suck on blood covered
Christmas lights.
*
Teeth rotted.
Lips cracked.
Skin scratched.
*
A picture perfect O, holy night,
up until an hour before when
the neighbors heard...something...
but it was awfully late, much to late to join the plight
*
Muffling.
Gurgling.
Gasping.
*
"Santa" baby came down the chimney--
only it wasn't the chimney, it was the back door.
Opened with tiny hands with merry and cheer and
met with plastic, white hair lit by fairy lights dimly
*
"Santa?"
"I knew it!"
"Come in!"
*
It's the most wonderful time of the year
when bad things
and sad things
can't possibly be near.
*
Bones broken.
Flesh cut.
Blood covered.
*
It was truly a last Christmas
for the three.
Unopened presents, half-eaten cookies, milk that turned light pink.
Sadly, without witness.
*
Footsteps.
Tiny plastic bells ringing.
Silence.
*
Naughty "Santa Claus" came to town
in stolen hand-me-downs.

Oh this is delightfully disturbing 😁
I feel like I can actually see this dude and it makes my skin crawl
Suitably horrific! A great challenge entry.
Hahahahahahahaha I especial loved the pink milk! Like imagine if people were to actually sell milk plus blood and say it's Rosemilk. Lol, loved your poem!
