Sandstorms and Rock Salt
A poem for seasonal affect disorder

There’s a sand storm out there
See the frost sweep the windshield
Feel it rock the battered truck
*
The ice takes form out there
Watch it dance across the field
See it chase the antlered buck
*
It is NOT warm out there
Plows have left the roads all peeled
They are grey with salted muck
*
We poor who dorm out there
Wait the day the earth is healed
And Spring shall return our luck
