Sands of Time

A Faith based poem

By Sarah Fiander HarrisonPublished 2 days ago • 1 min read

The sands of time were shifting

Across this ancient land,

We walked together as one group

When the Lord he took my hand.

We talked about all manner of things;

And the week that was ahead,

He pre-told me of the tomb

Where He'd be lying dead.

I was heartbroken at this news,

How could He be so calm?

Outwardly I wanted to scream,

But I could not cause alarm.

Some of our group would struggle

With His prophecy

That is why he fell in step

And walked alongside me.

I listened to my friend of course

And stopped Him in His tracks

Was it possible for us to run?

Could we not turn back?

No, He said, My human life

Is coming to an end,

I have fulfilled the prophecy

The reason I was sent.

He was quiet after that,

But still he held my hand.

And the sands of time were shifting

Across this ancient land.
