Sanctuary

A Safe Haven….

‘Home’ …. Is Within

There is this special place,

That is all your own,

It is a sanctuary, a haven,

Your very own home.

In this secret place,

Your world within,

We may run, hide, confide,

And bide your time,

Against the rising and overwhelming tide.

In this place, this space,

There is no haste, no chase,

There is grace,

Your footsteps of your journey leaving no trace,

You are free to explore at your own pace.

When you have cried, and tried,

Feel that there is no – one on your side,

I shall be there beside,

To be your guide.

In this special place,

There is nothing seeking to harm,

There is no qualm,

A peaceful eternal calm.

You may hold onto my arm.

If you ever get scared,

Feel unprepared and impaired,

I shall be with you,

You are repaired.

When there are grizzly bears,

When You feel bare, and barely there,

When it is too much to bare,

Hold on to your teddy bear.

The world may seem big, scary, stark, and dark,

Full of sharks, and loud barks.

But you are safe, warm, loved, & protected,

You are shielded,

The monsters will not find you,

You will go undetected.

You have a beautiful spark.

Your heart is your ark.

It is time dear one, to make your mark.
