Same Old Fear
same old fear, every waking moment
Same old fear
every waking moment
a slip backwards, my heart refuses to condone it
it’s a fight to continue moving forward
when thoughts become unsteady and the slip is real
same old fear
just an arm stretch away
deceiving to think its impossible to happen , impossible to heal
when blue skies light a path away
away from the pain that resides inside
same old fear
so I exhale
I take a deep breath
hoping the fears and pain dissipate
resolve
relinquishing my set back into a come back
fighting off the temptations
fighting off having to start again
same old fear
same old fear that turns into the same old excuses
just one day
the fear of it all
descending again into a world wind of a binge
a binge that eventually will ascend and transcend
to no end
same old fear.
