Salty Dogs

Sailor's Dream

Old salty dogs, miles of ocean

Ship of fools in the wind

Have no home but the sea

Brave men facing the challenge

To meet their destiny

Hands rough like bark on a tree

Skin brown from rays of the sun

Sweatin' and strainin' to the captain's orders

Trimming sails in a westward wind

Catching trade winds twelve knots at best

Heading' for islands where native girls live

Grass skirts, long flowing hair

Sparkling eyes brown skin

Sail on the seven seas

Old salty dogs of the sea

Caught up in the wind

Old salty dogs of the sea

Drinkin' hot buttered rum

Bright stars gaze from above

A hard days work on deck

Crews ready to it the sack

Sail on the seven seas

Old salty dogs of the sea

Caught up in the wind

Old salty dogs of the sea

But now I am an old salty dog

My boat has one sail to trim

The bay is my ocean of destiny

Caught in the wind

Challenging sea

A sailors dream
