Neither Lars or Vars, but in Deutschland found

Boats afloat, sails to be unfurled

By a former farmer’s family proud.

Under the Union Jack, the maple leaf swirled.

I could speak of how the waves did crush,

The wish to top the Topper’s list,

But gusts of life put that mind awash

For to ride the edge winds is best.

Those sailing summers afforded by

Adventure seeking teens accompanied

By peers and beers and kin, why

Few pictures can impart this soul’s need.

From the Dummersee and north from Kiel,

Each day we sailed ‘til dusk, water beneath our heels.
