Saddest Lies

We are our own crime.

By Ecarg NosivePublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

Never have I said the words

"Life is beautiful"

Simply because

It's not

It's horrific and filled with tremendous agony

Yet, our society likes to sugarcoat the disharmony

The Earth is beautiful

Plants are beautiful

Even other creatures who roam this land with us,

Are beautiful

But,

We as a species

Are not

We are hideous and conniving beings

Who have created an empire which

Controls even ourselves

We are not powered by survival

Like the rest of Earth's organisms

We're powered by greed

A greed we made that is impossible to destroy

We will never be satisfied

So instead,

We tell ourselves the saddest lies

but,

I need more

sad poetry
