The moon was so bright tonight

that it shut off night mode

on my phone

the stars don't stand a chance

of being seen in that kind of light

invisible even though they're

shining like they always do

it's a familiar mode

I do it to myself I think

and then the clouds roll in like a

thick blanket, hiding

the moon and the stars

and now nobody's shining

can be seen

that's how it goes sometimes

there's always tomorrow.
