Rushing River

#VocalNPM

By Benjamin Alexander HousePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The river of life rushes on where it may; who can tell if plans to stay.

Its course is rough, confusing, in a fray; no matter what you do or how you fight, it flows where it may.

Each soul is cast into the river; some prove takers, some prove givers. Some seem always thrown against the rocks, in the school of hard knocks. Others seem always in a calm, at ease and without a qualm.

But The river flows only one way, drawing us closer to that fateful day.

Life goes on, even if unplanned; sometimes things get out of hand. The ground shifts quicker than sand, and often you don't know where to stand.

Life drops into the river and off you will go; you don't always get to choose just where you will flow.

Swim or sink, the choice is yours; Death by drowning or the safety of the shores.

Attempting to stand, you're often thrown down; sometimes the easier option is to drown.
