his wreck of a car parked in the kitchen

hair in the sink still where it had fallen

the cutout shadows where he had left them

his hands moved so fast their maps were blurred

misread. misunderstood. murderous

dramas echoed in fading caws

feathers were clipped

anarchic green moonbeams germinate

wings of oblivious black

the hands of birds never flap frantically
