Run the Fastest You Ever Ran… He Is Here

He will get you, if you stop

Run the Fastest You Ever Ran… He Is Here

Run the fastest you ever ran,
Don’t look back to see his face.
Every second that you lose,
Brings him closer in the chase.

The forest swallowed every path,
The branches reached like twisted hands.
Every heartbeat thundered loud,
Across the cold forgotten lands.

He never hurried, never spoke,
He simply knew where I would hide.
Every breath became a prayer,
With nowhere left to run beside.

The moonlight vanished from the sky,
The stars refused to shine at all.
Even echoes held their breath,
Listening for my desperate call.

My footsteps stumbled through the mist,
While something breathed behind the trees.
The cold wrapped tightly round my neck,
Like winter riding on the breeze.

Run the fastest you ever ran…
But fear can always run much faster.
Sometimes what is chasing you,
Has walked beside you ever after.

The silence screamed much louder still,
Than any footsteps on the ground.
For sometimes fear is born within,
Without a single haunting sound.

If ever darkness calls your name,
Remember courage lives inside.
Even hunted hearts can rise,
And never let their spirit hide.
