Run Norwich

Everybody is excited, perhaps nervous. Full of anticipation.

We see the colourful categories,

We glimpse the crowd around the corner.

We get started, pumping to the music,

Each runner’s body goes into a unique rhythm,

There are all different faces, colours, sizes, shapes and abilities.

I see the most of Norwich I have ever seen,

The Cathedral scene and the hustle and bustle.

Although Rose Lane is a thorn in the side, it challenges me to reach new heights.

All different motivations but there is one goal in common: to get round.

I hear the cheers, see smiles on everybody’s faces.

It brings me out of my shell, I wave and smile at people I know and don’t know.

It brings us together, everyone is a team.

I feel the sun on my back but I keep going.

I run for many reasons: To feel the wind in my hair, to connect with nature, to feel powerful, to improve my creativity and wellbeing.

To have something in common or different to share with others.

I sprint down the finish straight in my Conac stripes, as I hear my name called I throw up my arms and grin, buzzing.

Because in Run Norwich everyone is a winner.
