😧😧😧
On a jog with my friends, burning off our irritation.
Mile after mile, everything was fine.
Until we found ourselves in an odd situation,
Which created a terror most genuine.
A haggard-looking man burst through the crowd,
Panting and wheezing, he screamed aloud,
"Run!"
😧😧😧
Without hesitation, we listened.
Although our bodies grew tired and brows glistened;
The unknown fear of what lies behind,
Weighed heavily on the mind.
Just what, I wonder, brought the man here?
Did he experience something horrifying back there?
Making him need to "Run!"?
😧😧😧
A few of my friends fell behind, filled with exhaustion, I'm sure.
Running endlessly is a tireless thing to endure.
We carried on, eyes focused ahead,
Then we heard a noise that filled us with dread.
Shrieking in agony, followed by the crunching of bone.
Oh dear God, did we leave those souls to die alone?
While we dutifully continued our "Run!"?
