I’m crouched down low in the long green grass

And take each step in the shadows quietly

I can see it, playing with a stick

“Idiot” I think as it has no idea I’m watching

Another step forward aaaaaand

Pounce! He got away! Sigh!

I roll around on the grass giving up on hunting

It’s so soft and cool and I rub my back on it

I can hear my dad in the distance coming home

“Hurry up” I think, I’ve been waiting for him all day

As he turns onto our street I call out to him

“Meooooooow” and I can hear his joy as he spots me

“Rubeeeeeee” he calls

I run up to him knowing he will pick me up

Quick cuddles dad then time for my dinner ok?

Well, my tummy is full and it’s bathtime

I laugh at my dad because he always tries to help

Then it’s time to chill in the man cave - It’s man territory

No girls allowed including my cousin Kahli!

I can’t stop falling asleep

I made a spot on my dad’s bed next to his pillow

And every time he wants to chat poor dad has to wake me up

He’s the best dad a cat could have

And totally spoils me rotten

I really can’t imagine a better family for a cat than him and I love him to bits

About the Creator

Linda Bromley

Just one of many creative outlets for me has been books! My whole life I’ve loved them and it’s so easy to make the jump to writing.

Recently I completed a poetry challenge and now, looking for more excuses to write, I’ve found myself here!
