ROY G BIV

A boy who knew

By Amanda Meredith StroudPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

I met Roy a long time ago

He showed me what it’s like to be alone

Lackadaisical it seems

Everything is just a dream

Once upon a time so lame

Colors were gone and we had nothing

Then a boy created a videogame

And everything became insane

Blue was green and purple was white

Nothing seemed to turn out right

Yellow was red and teal meant mean

One day we’ll figure out everything

Just another minute ago

I held Roy and he started to grow

Black was kept in the back all day

Until white began to fade to grey

Everything is so wrong it seems

Until you wake up in your dreams

You get to explore and see the light

Even though everything doesn’t seem right

These are just the boys and girls of different worlds

Yellow began mocking me and I needed to hurl

Lightning was now red

Dead I thought was the best

Then I’d really be able to see

What everything is especially the color pink

Little boys and little girls

Love lipstick and ruling the world

Hold up one minute ROY G BIV

I forgot to ask you for a pic!

Yellow, you’re absurd you’ve turned to red

Sex does not even have to exist

When blue is yellow and green is mean

Absurdity is living in a dream

Nothing seems to come out right

But don’t hold back, WIN THE FIGHT!

Yellow exists and so does green

But does that even mean a thing

When everyone just wants to play

So long is each and every single day

Talk to dad and talk to mom

Exist as one without a thought of “God”

You see everything makes sense in a dream

Until you wake up, you are a living thing

Light is day and dark is night

Colors fade and colors entwine

Yellow seems to be the sun

To you, but you are just someone

Exist and you will be fine

Just don’t give up on using your mind

Without red we wouldn’t sleep

We would just be alive in a dream

Just let the colors fade to black

Now is the time for something really wack

Look at yourself you’re in a dream

While you are “awake” you are always still asleep

Do not rush to dismay

Unless the colors begin to fade

Then you are among the living dead

Be careful, forget what your mother said

Every day is an excite

Do not whine do not cry

Be excited to be in a dream

Exactly is that, now you are free!

Free to be excited, free to run!

Free to suck on someone else’s thumb

I like living in a dream

After-all dreams are such an exciting thing
