If you could see my aura I’d like to think

It’d be the color of a soft rosy pink

*

Infectious kindness rooted in my heart

Spreading slowly to every part

*

Of my body, my community, and the world.

*

She is persistent, but nowhere near perfect

*

For sinister forces are always at work

When the darkness of society lurks

*

Waiting in the shadows to invade,

To repress my rosy pink shade

*

Chasing her out of the world, my community, my arms and my legs.

*

In moments of weakness, anger, depression, she flickers, changes for but a moment

*

When the fire inside me rages and all I can see is red

When greed destroys my planet’s green

When my heart is broken and I can’t help being blue

*

My rosy pink soul still pulses, softly, in my chest

Receded but not destroyed, never destroyed

Always alive

Simply waiting for the right time

To return
