Rosé

Wine of Summer

Summer always tastes like a rosé wine,

Refreshing and light as it hits your lips.

Meandering on beaches hands entwined,

As last light from sun on horizon dips.

-

Floral, fruity depths dance on our taste buds,

Your mouth leaves behind the sweetest of tastes,

Heartbeats do pound with a synchronised thud,

Tells us this moment’s too precious to waste.

-

Sunset and alcohol induced a haze,

As we found our way to bottle’s bottom.

Sea breeze fanned heat from two hearts set ablaze,

Inhibition no more lover’s symptom.

-

Regrets were not to be had on this day,

As we lost ourselves in summer and rosé.
