Rolling Forward

As The World Tilts

If I slip off the track

You might think that I tripped

I might be laid back

But I lean forward real quick

This world is messy

It’s all tricky and dirty

Wants everyone to forget we

Have plenty to worry

About where we’ve been

About where we’re going

About the wages of sin

And the whole of unknowing

Traipsing on the edge

Teetering on the fault line

While we’re flirting with death

We’re ignoring the incline

Everything shifts

And the other shoe drops

For moments, nothing exists

And the world seems to stop
