rollerblades for xmas

a visceral childhood memory

By EvannPublished 4 years ago • Updated 4 years ago • 1 min read

fast, maybe even

faster than a gust of wind

look at me, daddy

*

an unforeseen rock

skin tearing against the earth

dirt loosening teeth

*

my skin is burning

a fire lit on my knees

cheeks hot, embarrassed

*

water pricks my eyes

shake it off my dad tells me

i wipe them away
